Get Chinese currency - Yuan banknotes in bank outside China

Why it is not possible to get Chinese Yuan banknotes in many of regular banks outside from China ? Where should I buy CNY in cash form ?

CNY is non-fully convertible currency. You can try to get Yuan in cash in some currency exchange offices or currency exchange kiosks. There is also an option to buy Chinese Yuan bank notes online. When you decide to buy Yuan after arriving to China, it is recommended to have undamaged bank notes of some well-known currency, for example EUR or USD.

When travel to / from China, please note that you may import / export only limited amount of cash. You should check the current limits before traveling.
