How to disable text overwrite / overtype mode while typing ?

What shortcut should I use to turn off the text overtype mode ? I somehow turned it on while typing, but I don't know how to turn it off.

There is actually no shortcut to disable the overwrite mode while typing. Enabling or disabling text overwrite mode is quite simple and sometimes it can be done accidentally. To turn off / turn on the overtype mode, you have to press the Insert key. In case of some computers the Insert key can be marked on keyboard as Ins.
