Depending on how you use MS Teams and what version do you have, you can try the following methods to check who is in a meeting.

If you use MS Teams within your organization, there may be more options available. You can see the status icon of other users in your organization, what can be helpful.

1. In the new Teams versions, you can not see the list of present attendees unless you join the meeting. Before joining the meeting, try to click on People in the meeting group, if it is available. If not, you have to join the meeting to see who is present.

2. The second option how to check who is in the meeting is to rely on user's status icon. Go to your Calendar, find the meeting and click on it to open the Meeting details. Then click on Scheduling assistant tab to see the list of invited attendees and their status icons. If attendee is in a meeting, the icon is red (attendee can be in other meeting). If status icon is green or yellow, user is not in a meeting.

3. The third option is check the number of people that already are in the meeting. You can see the number of people who joined a meeting on a pre-meeting screen. For example, if there are 6 people invited and 5 of them already joined the meeting, you are the only one who is missing.

New Microsoft Teams doesn't allow to see who is in the meeting without joining. You can use "indirect ways" to see who is in the meeting before you join it.

Probably the best indirect way how to see who is in the meeting is checking a user status. But this option is usually available if you use Teams within your company or oragnization.
