Depending on your device and Android version, you can turn off the text auto-correction or auto-suggestion when typing by using a multiple different methods. Some phones or tablets don't use a default keyboard settings, because they have their own keyboard software and keyboard settings.

The most common way how to disable autocorrect on Android device is:
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System
3. Open Languages & input
4. Tap on Virtual keyboard
5. Select your default keyboard
6. Open Text correction
7. Change the settings according to you preference

On Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet you can turn off auto-correct and auto-suggest:
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General management
3. Open Languages & input
4. Tap on On-screen keyboard
5. Select your default keyboard (which is probably Samsung keyboard)
6. Open Smart typing
7. Change the settings according to you preference
