Meaning of Have a follow up with you - meeting, call, email ?

What does it mean if someone say, if we can have a follow up ? Does having a follow up with someone mean email conversation, call or meeting ?

Have a follow up with you means to do something in addition to what you have already done, in order to achieve some aim.

For example, if you work on some project, you can have a follow up with your project team or customer, after a certain part of project is completed.

Have a follow up can be used in relation to multiple events like meeting, call, email etc.

Another example can be:

You have a business meeting where you describe some product and you tell to potential customer to try it. Then you can have a follow-up call, follow-up meeting or send a follow-up email, to talk about the product, provide some additional information, answer customer's questions or receive a feedback.
