Cacao and cocoa are not the same. Simply said, cocoa beans come from cacao tree.

The difference between cacao and cocoa is, that cacao is the raw, unprocessed version of cocoa. So cacao is less processed than cocoa.

Cocoa is created after the beans are roasted and ground into a powder.
