When is RAM, storage and USB memory sticks going to get cheaper?

When is RAM, storage and USB memory sticks going to get cheaper? Do you think that low prices will come back? Should I wait or will memory stay expensive?

Not soon. Currently, the price of memory keeps increasing, because of high demand for memory from AI data centers and server infrastructures.

The demand for memory is much higher than manufacturing capacity.

Now, the new memory producing factories are being built. So manufacturing capacity should be increased and price of memory should go down in the future.

It is expected that memory should get cheaper in 2027 or 2028. Until then, the prices should rise or at least stay high.

Here is USB stick price surge from my experience:
In 2024, I bought Samsung 512 GB USB-C stick for 40 USD.
In 2025 its price was 80 USD.
Now in 2026, its price is over 120 USD.
