Is difference between free LibreOffice and Microsoft Office ?

Is LibreOffice compatible with Microsoft Office or are there differences in the functions ?

LibreOffice is a free alternative to some Microsoft Office applications. It works quite good with XLS, DOC or PPT files, but I would't rely on 100% compatibility. The design of LibreOffice applications makes them not so user friendly, but the software is available for free of charge.
