Changing HDD for SSD can boost the performance of laptop or desktop computer. SSD is based on flash memory, so it doesn't use any moving mechanical parts, what makes it faster, more power efficient and more reliable than HDD.

Before there was quite a big price difference between SSD and HDD, but now SSDs are cheaper than they used to be. The advantages of SSD can be recognized mainly when working with software that is intensively reading or writing data on drive or when copying the files. But replacing HDD with SSD makes the computer faster in general.

You can often recognize the speed difference between HDD and SSD when Windows or other software like Adobe Photoshop are using SSD as a virtual memory. SSD is much faster for this purpose, because of its higher write and read speeds.
