Difference between couscous, bulgur, rice, quinoa, chia seeds

What is the difference between couscous and bulgur ? Is it the same ? And what is the difference between quinoa, chia seeds and rice ?

No, bulgur and couscous are not the same. Bulgur, couscous, quinoa and rice may look similar, but each of them is quite specific. The tastes are different.

  • Bulgur is a type of whole wheat grain. Grains are cracked, partially pre-cooked and dried.
  • Couscous is a ground wheat. It is known as a tiny pasta.
  • Quinoa is a seed.
  • Chia seeds are seeds of flowering plant.
  • Rice is a cereal grain. There are many types of rice, having a different shapes and tastes.
