How to calculate selling price excluding / without VAT ?

I know the selling price, that includes 19% VAT. How can I calculate the price without VAT ?

You need to first divide VAT rate 19% by 100. Then add 1 to the result:

19 / 100 = 0,19

0,19 + 1 = 1,19

To get the price without VAT, you need to divide price with VAT by 1,19.

If the price with VAT is 595 Eur, then the price without VAT is 500 Eur:

595 / 1,19 = 500
